KURAIDORI 6 Piece Kitchen Cutting Utensil Set with Block

• This is one of the more &#34;uncommon&#34;
colours fer the 401 size Pyrex mixing
bowls.
• These bowls came in sets of 4, and this
bowl, marked 401. The bowl holds 1 1/2
pints of liquid.
• The interior surfaces remain glossy with
very few utensil marks. The exterior has
some wear, but the colour remains
strong, and I&#39;d say about 80% still
glossy.
• The yellow Pyrex #401 mixing bowl was
produced from 1956 to 1962.

Gali &#38; Zani Italian Espresso Percolator

• Harumi Ota is a ceramic artist based in
Victoria, BC. His work ranges from the
functional to the sculptural, and is
characterized by a blend of traditional
Japanese designs and his own, unique,
nature-inspired style.
• Harumi studied at the Kutani Ceramic
Technical Training Centre in Nomi, Japan,
before moving to Canada in 1997.
• He has exhibited work in Japan, New
Zealand, the United States, and Canada.
• Cream coloured stoneware, cone 6
electric fired. This has had 3 firings: 1st
a bisque, 2nd decoration and a clear
crackle glaze, and 3rd an oxide rubbed
onto the pot, and &#34;seeped&#34; into the
crackle.
• This bowl is divided into four quadrants
using cobalt oxide to create the flower
motif. Three flowers are on the exterior.

1973 from Daphne Zeitz and Mavis
Mooney. Other workshops include Tom
Coleman, Steven Hill, Robin Hopper,
Greg Daly, and Jeff Oestritch.
• This is a white stoneware clay body
which has a sgraffito sun design in the
centre of the bowl, and trim has been
carved into

Pyrex #444 Old Orchard Cinderella Mixing Bowl 4 Quart

• Born in Vancouver, B.C. in 1941, Bob
moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where he
began making ceramic objects in 1961.
• In 1967 he opened his first studio in the
Okanagan, becoming known for his
stoneware and raku-fired pieces, masks
and wall murals.
• In the 1970&#39;s he set up a studio on
Bowen Island, and there, compiled his
important and historic 1977 &#39;Catalogue&#39;
• In 1979 Bob opened Kingsmill Pottery
Studio on Granville Island in Vancouver,
while making his home and keeping a
studio in Coldstream, near Vernon.

• All these pieces are signed MACE, but I
have not been able to find out who the
potter is, and where they are from.
• All the pieces are well thrown, and have
thin walls.
• As shown, they are a curved wall form,
which holds the contents well, and keeps
the food from slipping over the edge.
• They are made of porcelain, fired to
cone 10 in a gas kiln. The interior design
is grapes on vine with leaves. Each bowl
is hand painted with the various oxides,
so each is individual and unique. They
have a celadon overglaze.

• Jack Olive grew up in Thunder Bay,
Ontario, attended Moorhead State
College in Minnesota, and was a
biochemist for Oregon Medical School.
• He returned to Moorhead and studied
ceramics and graphics.
• In 1971 he moved to Vancouver and
was a founding member and director of
the Vancouver Clayworks Society - a co-
op of 12 members, and set up shop on
Granville Island.
• Jack moved to the Sunshine Coast and
has been working as a production potter.
• This piece was fired to cone one with
over and under glaze decoration. It is
food safe, and can be used in the oven
or the microwave.
• In excellent condition, no breaks,
cracks, or chips. There is a &#34;firing crack&#34;
that happened the piece was in the kiln,
but does not effect the pottery at all.

• In the early 1960&#39;s, Gardner studied
with Leonard Osborne for about 4 years.
• In the mid 1960&#39;s she did pottery-
making demonstrations and sold work at
the AGGV and the Hudson Bay Co.
• In 1967 she opened Bastion
Handcrafts, Victoria, BC where she sold
a wide range of local craft, and by 1971
she was selling items made by over 160
artists and craftspeople.
• Using teaching methods learned from
Osborne, she also taught regularly in her
studio located on the second floor of
Bastion Handcrafts.

• Tom Dendy 1951- 2023
• Tom spent most of his life in the
Kelowna area, but he has a degree in
education from the University of Victoria,
and taught school in Vancouver, Kitimat,
Terrace and New Zealand.
• Tom was an extremely talented potter,
and his studio name was &#34;Contented Cat
Pottery&#34;, and spent many years at
Creative Chaos in Vernon, and The
Kelowna Farmers Market.
• This is a finely thrown white stoneware
clay platter fired to cone 10 in a gas kiln.
The over all glaze is a celadon, with
accents of leaf like designs made with a
tomaku or iron based glaze. There may
have been a centre bowl at some point to
go with the platter.

attached handles. It is signed on the
back with the initials GN, but I have not
been able to find out the potter&#39;s name or

• This platter is made with redware clay

• The designs include tomatoes,
peppers, and olives with sgraffito work
and a clear majolica glaze overall.

pottery studio there for the last 16 years.
• This platter is made with white clay and

garlic, tomato, peas, and an eggplant all
painted with bright underglazes with
various shades and tones work and a
clear glaze overall.

• Darcy Margesson spent 3 years of
Study at UBC, then the Shadbolt Centre
for the Arts. He spent a year at the
University of Montana and studied with
the famed American ceramicist, Rudy
Autio. He studied ceramics at the Alberta
College of Art for 4 years and returned to
Vancouver in 1985.
• Darcy&#39;s earthenware pottery can be
found at many craft fairs, and he sold
through the Gallery of BC Ceramics and
at Circle Craft Co-op.
• This dish is a medium fire red clay body,
with a majolica Italian style glaze of two
bird forms in a ying/yang design.
• Darcy&#39;s signature is on the reverse.

• Ruth was born in &#34;Lipton,
Saskatchewan, but now lives in
Nanaimo, BC.
• She attended Malaspina College, and
learned her craft there.
• Ruth uses various clay and
temperatures with her pottery from
electric kilns to the wood fired Tozan kiln.
• She has been part of the Naniamo
Pottery Collective since 1978.
• There is a YouTube of Ruth throwing a
bowl if you google her name. Quite
interesting.
• This bowl is a cream/white stoneware
clay, fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln.
She&#39;s used soft colours with copper and
iron in a free brush stroke style, and is
finished with a cream semi-matte glaze.
• Ruth has signed it on the base.

Ruth Porter Large Serving Bowl

• This is a hand thrown bowl made for an
iron rich stoneware clay body, fired to
cone 10 in a gas kiln.
• The potter has carved three slightly
different sunflowers in the clay, so the are
a relief form and very textural.
• There is no glaze on the exterior, but
the potter has rubbed in an oxide, so a
subtle contrast results.
• The interior has a rusty re glaze, and
the iron from the clay has resulted in
spotting. As well, the glaze changes
colours where it settled into the throwing
rings of the bowl.
• There is no signature or chop mark on
this piece un fortunately.

• This very elegant &#34;cake stand&#34; is made
of two thrown pieces joined together.
The person that made this piece was an
experienced potter.
• There is a &#34;milky&#34; purple/blue base
glaze with a black rim, and highlighted in
22 carat gold in two circular bands.
• This piece is made of porcelain, fired to
cone 10 in a gas gas kiln, and then again
at cone 018 for the gold.
• It is an interesting chop mark, but I have
been unable to discover the potter&#39;s
name or origin.

• Ed Drahanchuk (b. 1938) is a Canadian
ceramic artist who has been creating
pieces in his own studio in the tiny
hamlet of Bragg Creek since the early
1960&#39;s.
• Born in Calgary, he attended Alberta
College of Art and currently resides on
Quadra Island.
• This piece was made in the early 1960&#39;s
in Alberta, using the iron rich Plainsman
clay. Hand formed, and using a wax
resist technique to create the design.
Fired in a gas kiln at cone 10.

• The signature on the reverse is Tom
Dennis from DEnman Is.
• Tom Dennis credits Manfred Rupp with
inspiring him to take up pottery when he
first arrived from California in 1972, and
he&#39;s been making pottery for the last 53
years!
• From the clay used for this piece it
would date to the late 1980&#39;s to early
1990&#39;s, as &#34;very groggy&#34; clay was
popular during this time frame.
• Thrown and cut/altered into a slightly
rectangular platter. White very groggy
stoneware clay fired to cone 10 in a gas
kiln with a reduction atmosphere that
creates the copper red to purple glaze
effect on the top, and the celadon green
on the underside.
